Dr. Paul Kloostra
Paul Kloostra, DDS, MD has served as Director of Facial Surgery and Director of Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery at CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital, where he built his career around the surgical care of patients with cleft and craniofacial conditions. He built one of the most comprehensive pediatric cleft and craniofacial programs in the region, with a fellowship program recognized by the American Cleft Palate Association, through which he mentored a select group of surgeons who have gone on to positions at major academic medical centers and exceptional surgical practices across the country.
Dr. Lee completed her pediatric cleft and craniofacial fellowship under Dr. Kloostra’s direct mentorship at CAMC, where she gained deep, hands-on experience across the full spectrum of cleft and craniofacial care, from prenatal counseling and neonatal intervention through primary and secondary cleft lip and palate repair, craniosynostosis, and complex jaw reconstruction.

Passion & Purpose

For Dr. Lee, the path to oral and maxillofacial surgery was shaped early. The daughter of an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in South Korea, she grew up with an intimate understanding of what skilled surgical care means to a patient and their family. That upbringing instilled in her a deep sense of purpose that has guided every stage of her career. A passion for cleft and craniofacial surgery drew her to pursue one of the most specialized fellowships in her field, driven by a profound appreciation for the impact that surgical correction has on a child’s life. That same sense of purpose is what takes her to Bangladesh twice a year on surgical mission trips, where she performs cleft surgery on children who would otherwise never have access to this level of care.
For those who know Dr. Lee, her calm, compassionate presence and her genuine investment in every patient she treats are what define her most. The work itself, and the difference it makes in people’s lives, remains her greatest passion and reward.
